Good news Bad news.

Well lets get right to the bad news Grandma Beverly has metastatic cancer to the liver and the bone. This is very bad. Bone cancer is real bad but liver cancer is worse and according to her PET scan at least 2 lobes of her liver are involved. She has hot spots on her spine and hip and is having a lot of hip pain. The good news is that she is going to fight. She will start chemotherapy tomorrow and it will go for 3 weeks then they will check her again. Her doctor is telling her that it will not cure her but it could give her more time. She is having hip pain and is on strong pain medication, but she is determined to go down swinging. She told me when we went to Las Vegas she thought she had bone cancer but I kind of poo-pooed her because she has such bad osteoporosis I thought It was just that acting up. I will keep you informed about what is going on but you might want to be prepared and to remember her in your prayers. While you are praying you might send up a word for Fred Wagner he is having a hard time right now. He has a major infection in his good leg. and his blood sugars have been going up and down so badly he went back to the hospital today with seizures that could not be controlled. Dad started Physical therapy today and I guess it went well he did not complain much. Today was payday and we actually got paid. Things are good in Crescent City for your poor beleaguered parents. Gramp is doing well. He will be 89 on November 24 th keep that date in mind. I will post a few pictures after we get back from Redding Renasisance faire this weekend.

Baby, baby.baby.

I cannot read all of my daughter's (I'm leaving out the in law) posts and not let them all know how much I love them. I have been thinking about Marinda a lot and about how when we found out about Andrew I prayed for a miracle. I prayed that the doctors would be wrong and Andrew would be fine and come out healthy. I felt at peace praying for this and right up until he was born I felt my prayers were going to be answered. They were, we received our miracle his name was Andrew and he was a most beautiful boy in the world he was sent to earth to teach this family some things. I feel we have learned many of Andrews lessons, but his very life is still teaching us something. I felt so bad when Julie miscarried her first baby. I felt it was my fault. I should have known to do something more than I did after all I am a nurse. You are all such awesome parents in your own way and what ever happens I know that it is in Heavenly Fathers plan for this family and it is our gift to know that. Jaime this includes you. As dysfunctional as you may think this family if we have that gift of faith and I hope you will never lose it.

Back on the Blog

I cannot believe It has been 2 months since I have written. I have been to Utah, Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas. Fast trips yes but fun just the same. We drove to Utah (this was my third trip this year), saw Joseph and family and then went to Joels where we stayed for 3 nites and helped them with their house. I swept the whole upstairs. It is a nice house and Joel says if things keep going as planned they will be in by October 10, so when we go to see Joels play we will get to stay at the house. Anyway we than went to Lake Tahoe for the Elson family reunion. It is always a nice time. Then back to work and 2 weeks later we went to Las Vegas for Joseph to receive his masters degree in Library Science. It was great fun Grandma and Aunt Terrie came also and of course we had a good time. I got to go see the Dolphins and the white tigers with the grand kids and that was fun. The trip home was harrowing. We did not know if we would make our connection in San Francisco as our plane from Las Vegas left very late. Luckily we made it and got home safely and back to work. Work Work Work. I will be glad when I do not have to use that word every day. Her are some Fun Pics of the trips.
