The next one

I was telling about all of my grand kids and I stoped for a while so now I will get back to it I think I left off with number 4. That would be Jacob. I first met Jacob only days after he was born in Augusta, Georgia. He looked a lot like his brother as a baby but as he grew he developed into his own man so to speak. Jacob does not talk much at least not to me. He likes to play on the computer and I think once he got settled he really liked school. He is now in the first grade having survived Kindergarten. When I went to Hawaii for the Birth of his sister, I found that Jacob still was not a big talker. I was surprised that he would not come and tell me good by when I left after having been there a month. Oh well. My favorite pictures of Jacob are when he is smiling as he does it so seldom. He is a great kid and a good big brother to Adam and Kamryn. He likes to do all his big brother Chandler does. I love my sweet Jacob. I couldn't get the blog to let me add a picture but I do have my favorite of Jacob in my big book of grand kids.

Mom's Story.

So I call Julie to find out if she is all ready to go and she tells me she has been having contractions all day and was not sure that she was going to go. OK I said I can do this by myself (but I was not looking forward to it) anyway at 10:00 o'clock Julie calls and says she is going to go but not bring Damon. I understand but am disappointed. So I get on my plane and go to Louisville and Julie meets me at the airport and we take off for Elizabethtown which is where our Hotel is. We drive around a little and check out how to get to the Fort and then go to have dinner. We had Mexican food and neither of us ate much. So according to the Army's warning we planned on getting up at 6:00am to be ready to go and get Joel at 9:00. then we went to sleep. I rolled over once and Julie moaned a little but I went back to sleep until I felt a hand on my shoulder and was afraid I overslept. It was Julie she said I think we better go to the hospital. We decided to go to Fort Knox to the Army base to the Hospital. We got there and the people were not happy. They checked Julie and decided to send her to the local hospital. I decided to go ask the doctor not to send us to Louisville but to Elizabethtown. He said OK and I went back in to Julie and decided to call some of the numbers in the letter Julie had. first one no answer then I got someone and explained who I was and that we were on base at the Hospital and Julie was in labor. They said they would bring him over. Julie's contractions were subsiding so I thought as soon as Joel got there we would go then the doctor checked her again and her water broke. The doctor said we were not going anywhere. I went down stairs to get Joel and he was just coming in to the ER. They told him he had to be back by 7:00 that night if she had had the baby or not. We headed upstairs and they had moved Julie to the labor room and they were so happy to see each other. Only about an hour later Emma made her appearance. She screamed loud and did so well. She wanted to see her daddy bad. The Army was wonderful and Let Joel stay with Julie and Emma. Graduation was short and sweet and then Joel said. I guess I am the only one who gets to get in a car and go away. Everyone else had to go on to training. God bless the Army. They really are family friendly. They even brought Emma a Blanket with the Fort Knox logo cool huh. What a trip.

Lost fun

We got to go and see some Lost sites. It was so fun. We went to an airfield where they are storing the Plane fuselage and we saw the Drug plane and we went to the beach where they filmed some of the camp scenes are the only thing still up is the church that the guy made during the second season. We also went to the "others"village and saw the cabins. It is actually a YMCA camp but they had others village printed on the ground. It was a fun day.

This is the building that is used as the front of the infirmary in Lost. It is so cool to see these places.

This is a picture of the cabins in the "others" village Cool Huh?

New Grandaughter

Since it is Kamryns birthday today I guess I Will go out of order and post about her. We got up at 4:00 am to be at the hospital by 5:30 but typical Army time nothing was in place and we waited until almost 6:30 to go anywhere. We then went to a holding room where we waited another hour and finally at about 7:30 they came to take Suzanne to surgery. I kept thinking they will come and get me by 7:45 it can't take that long to do a spinal and prep and drape her then it was 8:00 then it was 8:15 then about 8:20 they finally came and got me. They would not let me strand up and watch so I saw most of what I could see in the reflection on the mask of one of the surgeons. Then at 8:54 we heard the cry and they lifted her up ands showed her to her mom. She cried and cried, I got to cut the cord and then hold her and bring her to her Mom for kisses before we went off to the recovery room, where she was shot diapered and ointmneted and further evaluated. What a fine day, a child is born and an uncle goes to heaven, Uncle Harold passed away in his sleep last evening or early this morning. I will attempt a picture.

My beatuiful first redheaded grandaughter

Katelyn Joeli Bree is my beautiful first red-headed grand daughter. She loves to show me her room and all her things and she always draws me pictures for my refrigerator. Her Dad is my skinny little red headed kid so I guess if you have one red head it gets passed on. Katelyn is in the first grade and loves going to school. She lives in Utah. When she was born I remember going to Windsor, CA. when she was given a name and a blessing by her father helped by both of his brothers. I think she is the only grandchild that has been blessed by her dad and both uncles. She is big sister to David, Jacquelyn and Alice. She takes good care of them and is a big helper to her Mom. Especially now that her dad is away. She is beautiful as you can see from her picture.

My first Grandson

Chandler is my first grandson. I remember I drove all the way to Turlock by myself to see him when he was born. I really miss him I love how he tells me everything that is going on. I am really glad to hear that he is a good reader and recently started reading the Tennis shoes books. We will get to read together when I am with you in Hawaii and it will be soon. Chandler is a good big brother and helps to take care of Jacob and Adam and I am sure he will help his mom with Kamyrn. I know he will be a big helper when I am with him and he will sing me lots of songs I love to hear My Chandler sing. Here are some pictures of Chandler. Well I lost my connection so I can only post one but here is my handsome boy and can he do push ups.

Expecting

I am so looking forward to seeing my baby son and his baby son and Julie too with my new granddaughter. I was convinced Joel was going to have another boy I went right out and bought blue material. So now I can make another beautiful girl quilt. I am going to get busy as soon as I consult with Julie and go to the fabric store. I might have something already. I just need to put binding on them. I am so happy to be a grandmother but I wish I could see more of my beautiful grand kids and they all are. I think I am going to highlight each one starting with Lindsey. It will take me almost 2 weeks. Here is Lindsey: First in a long line, she is a delight she loves to sing and loves her brother which I think has been a big help to her mother. Above is a picture of the gingerbread house she made for Christmas. She did a good Job. I love you Lindsey

New Hair Day

I got a hair cut today. I had my highlights put back in I love it and no one has noticed. Oh well so much for a $65.00 hairdo. It was good to talk to my Hair dresser again we talked about Maui. I had not gotten my hair done since she went and she told me how much she loved it. My first furlough check was this month and I hope the Governor is happy with my $800.00. It is going to cut way back on my Wal-mart shopping. I hope somone is happy with my money.

What's going on?

Today I listened as my co worker tried to explain the concept of furloughs to another co-worker. It was laughable. I finally just said "Tell it like it is we will be working for free for 2 days a month." that is our goveners gift to us who work the toughest beat in the state, to work with the scum of the earth for free. Oh well things could be worse. I am ging to hav 5 count them 5 days in a row off and it will only cost menone day. Maybe I can use a furlough day. You see I do find the concept laughable. We got a bulletin from the union today wanting us to come to a meeting about the furloughs. They are going to try to explain them to us. I still say working for free for 2 years is just that working for free. I will have accumulated 288 furlough hours in 18 months so maybe I can take a month off and relax. If that is possible. That is supposed to be the pay back after working for free. I have a new calling I am going to be the Primary chorrister. I know nothing about music I know I love to sing and I hope I can make the primary children love to sing also and not just get up in front of their parents and act stupid. At least it gets me out of Relief Society. I am expecting a new box of books I bought myself a new childrens song book. "I am a child of God" is missing from all of the ones we have at home. I like to think that it fell out from over use.

Bad hair days and other life mysteries

I am having bad hair year. I have not gotten a haircut since Beverly passed away and now I have no highlights and my hair is all natural. It is very blah color wise and I am going to have it highlighted as soon as I find out if I get a 10% pay cut or not. The Governor is balancing the State budget on the backs of the state employees. We hear new things every day but now a judge has ruled that he can make state workers take furloughs. I am in category 3. I will have to work and not get paid but get compensated time off (CTO) that I can spend at a later date but I have to use it before 2 years after the furloughs end. In essence to me I am going to be working 2 days a month for free. We never seem to have the coverage to use our CTO so it just piles up and then we just loose it. Thank you Mr Governor am I sorry I voted for you. Anyway I got a box of books today. I have been wanting to order the Doctrine and Covenants made easier and so I finally did. I also got Marindas recommended book "Broken things to mend" by Jeffery R Holland. and they had a good deal on "Jesus the Christ" so I got it too. So as I said I got a box of books. The only problem is I ordered and paid for 2 of the same book. I didn't realize it until after I did it so I asked David to see if he could fix it first thing in the morning but it had already gone to the warehouse to be filled so they said I could just send it back and get credit. It is part one of the D&C made easier if you want it get your bid in cause I am going to have David send it back soon. Hopefully by Friday.

happier days are here again!

I just did a big long post and then deleted it by hitting the wrong button. Oh well I will try to re create it. Anyway I was saying how I had such a good day on Sunday as David and I went on a long bike ride. It was a place we were not familiar with and it was really fun. We rode for about 9 miles and could have gone longer except I wore jeans and the chafing was getting to me. After coming home and fixing dinner I was so stiff I decided to brave the Hot tub again and not remember the last time I did it before bedtime how it kept me awake instead of soothing me. I felt wonderful in the morning and it was nice not to be so stiff (just chafed) I will wear my cycling pants next time. We went to the movies to see "Ink heart" it was OK but I could have waited for the DVD. I have been watching or listening to movies because I am trying to get some sewing done and The only tape I had was "Brigham City" I think I watched it 5 times and then I asked David to put my DVD player back and what did he bring for me to watch but "Singles Ward" and RM the best 2 years legacy all the church stuff so I have been watching them again and again. When I got the DVD player hooked up I was listening to Perry Mason I am on the 3rd season. I love Perry Mason. I have the first season of Boston legal I need to watch also. Anyway between the movies and the bike ride and the hot tub I am all mellowed out. I am looking forward to 5 days off over Valentines day and we may go to the mountains. As I said things are looking up .Life is good but not best I am happier now.

After the Holidays

I am going to attempt to post some pictures of the Holidays. I am trying to get a picture of Zeus and a picture of Gramp and his Nintendo DS. Zeus has discovered the circle. He runs around and around and sometimes he chases Blackie and Blondie until they get tired and jump up in the chair and he cannot get up. He then just sits and barks at them. You can just hear him saying come and play with me and they are saying go away you big lump and leave us alone. It is very fun to watch until he jumps on you and scratches you. I look like I am being abused I have so many scratches on my arms. Gramp loves his DS since Lindsey showed him how to play it. I think he has a nice Christmas.
